Ava: Support
Email us: jimmystranger89@gmail.com
We answer within a few days, usually from a boat. Tell us your phone model, the Ava version (Settings > About) and what you were doing. A screenshot helps.
Questions
Do I need an account?
No. Ava has no accounts and no sign-in. Your boat, limits, logs and notes stay on your phone.
How do I report a wrong place, pass or rule?
Use Comment on this next to the item in the app. A person reads every comment before anything changes. You can also email us.
Why does Ava say "Go with caution" or "Do not go"?
Every verdict lists what it rests on: your limits for wind, swell, steep seas and night entries, your boat, and the forecast. Open the plan to see each reason, and change your limits in Settings if they do not match how you sail.
Ava asks for my location. Do I have to allow it?
No. Location is used for the Daily Brief, the anchor watch and the passage log. You can decline and pick a place instead; the anchor watch needs location to work.
What is Boats nearby?
An optional part of the anchor watch, off unless you turn it on. While it is on, your anchor circle and the boat name you choose are shown to other Ava users anchored within 3 km, and deleted within 10 minutes of stopping.
How do I keep my data when I change phone?
Settings > Backup > Export backup, then import the file on the new phone.
How do I delete my data?
Uninstalling Ava deletes everything on the phone. For anything held on our side, email us the install id shown in Settings > About and we remove it.
Is Ava a chart?
No. Ava does not replace a chart, official forecasts, pilot books, local knowledge or the person on the bow.
